Got the results of my blood work today…

So, for those that have been following my progress you know that on January 7th I began cutting my calories and working out 4-5 days a week. Not sure if I mentioned this but on January 6th I got routine blood work done and wasn’t expecting to get good news since I knew i had lapsed back into bad habits.

My endocrinologist emailed me today and my kidney and liver function is all normal thank goodness, however he said that my total cholesterol level is 240…which is horrible. Now, not all cholesterol is bad…LDL is your bad cholesterol, and you want to have it about under 120 i think is healthy. Mine is 155. Again…horrible. More bad news…my triglycerides are at 182…a healthy range for this is under 150. I think everything I’m doing now is bringing me closer to healthier numbers but its just something I wanted to point out because I’m tired of hearing bullshit about men and women being too fat or too skinny. That isn’t the fucking point. The point is that whether you are overweight or underweight you need to keep this shit in check, otherwise you end up with heart disease, diabetes and a plethora of other issues. At nearly 23 years old I’ve seen my father have 2 heart attacks and 2 by-pass surgeries to keep a healthy blood supply to his heart. That isn’t the way i want to end up. Heart disease is completely preventable and had my dad changed his diet he would have been able to avoid this.

I’m sorry if any of that was offensive to anyone I’m just cranky today. My workout sucked because i didn’t have enough time to really get a good one in before work and now my stomach is killing me and I’m just….grumpy.
